Gmail SurveyGmail Survey

Hi again! Google has just come out with a new survey that lets you give them your opinion on what needs to be done to improve GMail (if you don’t know what that is, GMail is Google’s free e-mail service). There are several categories including personalization, organization, integration with other Google products, helpful additions, and a text area to type in your own idea(s).

For a general idea of the things you can select, here are some of what there is: To-do lists, IMAP access, have GMail do your laundry (they sure do like their jokes, see here for another one), Rich Text Signatures, colorful background skins, sort mesages by size, date, and sender, and much much more!

You can see what else you can select (up to 5 things) and take this survey here or register for GMail here

Funny Google Maps directions

Posted in Internet by Gabe on April 14, 2007

googlemaps.pngAs I was thinking, I thought that I could find cheap airfare or something related to travel if I goto Google Maps Directions and type in “Seattle to Paris” but I didn’t find that. No, I found directions, literally. It told me how to get to the East Coast from Seattle but then it told me something else… Google Maps told me to swin 3,462 miles across the Atlantic! I thought this was so hilarious, that I had to share it with y’all =D so enjoy! The images are below. To see this on Google Maps go here, and type the city Seattle to go to the city Paris.

Netdisaster

Posted in WebSite by Gabe on April 13, 2007

As I was stumbling across the Internet, I found a hilarious little web tool called Netdisaster. What it does is loads a web page and lets you destroy it with various means including:

Meteors, flood, flower power, nukes, chainsaw, pixel shaver, gun, bloody gun, paintballs, graffiti, scribbling babies, fried eggs, coffee, slow burn, tomatoes, cream pie, god, demonstration (very funny),Marsian attack, text sucking message, cow dung, dog dung, dung, dinosaurs, vomit, wasps, flies. mold, snails, and worms.

And if that isn’t enough, you can even add it to your website! But the odd thing is that it adds a white layer over the page and shows the animation on that white page… I wish it showed the coffee actually spilling on YouTube LOL. The site is completely harmless, so don’t worry about Google having a coffee stained O LOL.
Here are a few examples of Netdisaster in action on popular sites (as defined by Alexa):

Yahoo – demonstration – sound = no

Youtube – coffee – sound = no

Google – paintballs – sound = no (click on the gun to fire paintballs)

Awesome FireFox trick!

Posted in Software by Gabe on April 13, 2007

FireFox TrickHello again. As I was bored and messing around with FireFox to see if I could get fireworks to shoot out of the Go button, I found an awesome trick… you can open a window within a window (and even inside a tab) by copy + pasting the follow info in the address bar: chrome://browser/content/browser.xul

What this little bit of text does is basically open a FireFox window inside a tab, pretty cool huh? To get out of it simply go to the address bar and type in another address or hit the home button =D.
